Menopause Transition & Hormone Support Protocol

Practitioner-designed nutritional support for the menopausal transition, female hormone balance, healthy aging, and common changes in comfort, mood, and well-being.

Perimenopause and menopause involve much more than declining estrogen. As ovarian hormone production changes, the body must adapt to a new endocrine environment involving the brain, pituitary gland, ovaries, adrenal glands, thyroid, liver, and other tissues.

Women may notice hot flashes, night sweats, changes in sleep, mood, energy, menstrual patterns, or overall comfort and well-being during this transition. The experience can vary considerably from one woman to another.

This protocol combines female glandular support, targeted trace-mineral nutrition, a comprehensive menopause-focused herbal formula, and essential fatty acids. Concentrated Black Cohosh Supreme can be added when additional botanical menopause support is desired.

What This Protocol Supports

This protocol is designed to provide nutritional support for:

  • Healthy adaptation during perimenopause and menopause
  • Female endocrine and hormone balance
  • Comfort during common menopausal changes
  • Healthy mood and emotional well-being
  • Normal nervous-system function during the menopausal transition
  • Essential fatty-acid status and healthy inflammatory processes
  • Healthy skin, brain, cardiovascular, and musculoskeletal function
  • Overall vitality and healthy aging

Who May Find This Relevant

This protocol may be particularly relevant for women moving through perimenopause, menopause, or the early postmenopausal years who want broader nutritional support as their hormone physiology changes.

That may include women noticing hot flashes or feelings of warmth, night sweats, changing menstrual cycles, altered sleep, mood changes, reduced vitality, or simply feeling different as they move through the menopausal transition.

These changes do not always have the same cause or require the same strategy. This protocol provides a nutritional and botanical foundation while allowing the fatty-acid component and additional Black Cohosh support to be customized.

Symplex® F, 90 Tablets

Female Endocrine & Glandular Support

Symplex® F, 90 Tablets

Symplex F provides targeted glandular nutrition built around the female hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis—the communication network connecting the brain, pituitary gland, ovaries, and other endocrine tissues involved in female hormone regulation.

Its PMG blend contains bovine ovary, adrenal, pituitary, and thyroid extracts. This provides a broad glandular foundation for supporting female endocrine physiology as hormone patterns change during the menopausal transition.

Manganese B12™, 90 Tablets

Manganese & Trace-Mineral Support

Manganese B12™, 90 Tablets

Manganese B12 provides concentrated manganese along with vitamin B12, zinc, copper, and other nutritional cofactors. These nutrients participate in normal enzymatic, cellular, connective-tissue, and metabolic processes.

It is included as targeted micronutrient support alongside the glandular and botanical components of the menopause strategy.

Wild Yam Complex, 40 Tablets

Menopause & Female Hormone Support

Wild Yam Complex, 40 Tablets

Wild Yam Complex is the primary menopause-focused botanical formula in this protocol. It combines Wild Yam, Shatavari, St. John's Wort, Sage, Black Cohosh, and Korean Ginseng—herbs selected to support women during the menopausal transition.

Standard Process specifically formulates Wild Yam Complex to help provide relief from mild discomfort associated with menopause, maintain general well-being, calm the nerves, and support healthy mood balance.

Essential Fatty Acid & Healthy Aging Support

Dietary fats are an important part of normal endocrine physiology, while omega-3 fatty acids provide broader support for healthy inflammatory processes, brain and nervous-system function, cardiovascular health, and healthy aging.

Choose the omega-3 strategy that best fits your nutritional goals. Cod Liver Oil is the default because it provides EPA and DHA together with naturally occurring vitamins A and D. Tuna Omega-3 Oil provides a more foundational DHA-rich fish oil, while Olprima EPA/DHA provides a more concentrated, balanced source of EPA and DHA.

Black Cohosh Supreme - 90 Capsules

Targeted Menopause Botanical Support

Black Cohosh Supreme - 90 Capsules

Black Cohosh Supreme provides concentrated Black Cohosh root, one of the best-known botanicals used specifically during menopause.

Wild Yam Complex already contains Black Cohosh as part of its multi-herb formula. Black Cohosh Supreme is therefore included as an optional addition when more concentrated, targeted Black Cohosh support is desired for the menopausal transition.

How the Products Work Together

Menopause is a whole-body endocrine transition, not simply the loss of one hormone. Changes in ovarian hormone production occur within a larger network involving pituitary signaling, adrenal and thyroid physiology, nervous-system function, nutritional status, and metabolic health.

Symplex F provides the female glandular foundation, supporting the ovary, pituitary, adrenal, and thyroid components of the female endocrine system. Manganese B12 adds concentrated trace-mineral nutrition to support normal enzymatic and metabolic function.

Wild Yam Complex is the primary menopause-focused botanical component. Rather than relying on a single herb, it combines six botanicals traditionally used to support menopausal comfort, mood, nervous-system balance, vitality, and general well-being.

The selected essential fatty-acid formula adds another nutritional layer by supporting omega-3 status and healthy inflammatory processes, along with brain, cardiovascular, and nervous-system health. Cod Liver Oil adds vitamins A and D to that foundation.

Finally, Black Cohosh Supreme allows more concentrated Black Cohosh to be added when additional menopause-focused botanical support is desired.

Together, these products provide a broader strategy for helping support the body through the menopausal transition rather than focusing on a single hormone or symptom.

Suggested Use

Follow the suggested use and label directions for each selected product unless otherwise directed by a qualified healthcare professional.

Because this protocol combines multiple formulas and allows alternative fatty-acid selections and an optional botanical component, serving recommendations should be based on the specific products selected rather than a single protocol-wide dosing schedule.

Review the current product label before use.

Customize Your Protocol

The first three products establish the core menopause-support strategy.

Symplex F provides female glandular support, Manganese B12 supplies targeted trace-mineral nutrition, and Wild Yam Complex provides the primary multi-herb strategy for menopausal comfort, mood, nervous-system balance, and general well-being.

For essential fatty-acid support:

Cod Liver Oil is the default choice when broader nutritional support is desired because it combines EPA and DHA with vitamins A and D.

Tuna Omega-3 Oil is a good choice for more foundational omega-3 supplementation with a greater emphasis on DHA.

Olprima EPA/DHA provides substantially more concentrated EPA and DHA when a higher-potency omega-3 formula is preferred.

Black Cohosh Supreme is optional. Because Wild Yam Complex already contains Black Cohosh, it does not need to be automatically added for every woman. It provides a way to increase the amount of targeted Black Cohosh when additional menopause-focused botanical support is desired.

Important Information

This protocol is intended to support normal female physiology during the menopausal transition. It is not hormone-replacement therapy and is not intended to diagnose or treat a gynecologic, endocrine, or other medical condition.

Wild Yam Complex contains St. John's Wort, which has important medication interactions. Standard Process advises consulting a healthcare professional if medications are being used. The formula is contraindicated during pregnancy and generally during lactation, and excessive UV exposure should be avoided while using it. People with current or previous liver problems or frequent alcohol use should also review the product precautions before use.

It is also important not to confuse Wild Yam with progesterone replacement. Wild Yam naturally contains steroidal saponins such as diosgenin, but the human body does not simply convert dietary Wild Yam into progesterone. Wild Yam Complex should therefore be understood as a multi-herb menopause-support formula rather than a source of progesterone.

Manganese B12 is a concentrated manganese formula and is not intended for unrestricted long-term use. Standard Process advises consultation during pregnancy or nursing and for people with impaired liver function.

Cod Liver Oil contains vitamins A and D in addition to omega-3 fatty acids. Total intake should be considered when other vitamin A or D supplements are being used. All three fatty-acid choices contain fish-derived ingredients.

Black Cohosh Supreme should not be used during pregnancy or nursing. Because Black Cohosh is already present in Wild Yam Complex, selecting Black Cohosh Supreme increases total Black Cohosh exposure and should be considered accordingly.

New or unexplained postmenopausal bleeding, significant pelvic pain, a new breast mass or breast changes, severe or rapidly worsening symptoms, or symptoms that substantially interfere with daily life warrant appropriate clinical evaluation rather than assuming they are simply part of menopause.
